Natural Burial Grounds

Natural Burial Grounds are countryside areas, often in beautiful, rural, scenic locations where burials can take place. These sites are all over the UK and you will find them on funeralmap. They are growing in popularity for both burials and for the interring of ashes. They are called by many different names such as ‘Green Burial site’, ‘Woodland Park’ and so on. Take time to research what facilities various sites offer and visit if possible. See Questions to ask Natural Burial Grounds.

Just over half of the 300 sites in the UK are run by local authorities, others are operated by landowners such as farmers or charitable trusts. Each site will be very different in the way they manage the site, so some research will prove to be invaluable, plus you will get a feel for the site and whether it souts your requirements.
